Aker Solution

Expo Centre 2007

In December 2007, Aker Solution moved into new headquarters at Fornebu, Oslo. The company wanted to give the building a distinctive identity as well as creating an open arena in which to display the history of the company and Aker Solution’s significance in the past, present and future.

A comprehensive identity exhibition - Aker Expo - based on the history of Aker Solution.

Expo consists of a number of areas over five floors. A 300m2 large exhibition area forms the visitors’ arena. Nine displays are exhibited here with a spectacular glass rotunda in the centre. The rotunda represents the “heart” of the exhibition and functions as a room for showing films. A film, developed especially for the exhibition, presents the history of Aker Kværner. A screen pillar with a multimedia presentation displays Aker Kværner’s core values.

On the five office floors of the building are 20 smaller exhibition tableaus. Video presentations of current projects are shown in the social zones.

The history is communicated and staged using objects, pictures, text, film and animation. Expo includes specially made art; created by young artists as a commentary on the company.

Aker Solution have acquired a building which clearly states who works there. The Expo Centre gives the company the opportunity to give the customer, joint-venture partners, students, school students and Aker employees from all corners of the world an exciting insight into the history of the company and its solutions.

“When Aker Solutions opened their new headquarters at Fornebu, outside Oslo in December 2007, there was no doubt as to who was moving in. The building offers specially made art and exhibitions telling the story of the company, which in different ways comments on the company and Aker Solutions “social significance in the past, present and future”. Through an excellent working relationship with Expology, the Aker building has gained its own distinctive identity. Expology was a central contributor to the so called Aker Solution Expo, and has forumated all the stories about Aker Solution through exhibition design, graphic design and multimedia design. The centre gives us the opportunity to give customers, joint-venture partners, students, school students and Aker employees from all the corners of the world an exciting insight into the company’s history and solutions”.
