NHO – HMS game FLAKS NHO wanted a tool for training within HMS-work. The goal is that every individual should experience the link between management, risk and systematic HMS-work. It is a simple tool which can be incorporated into other company training and which can be used at meeting locations for those responsible for HMS. FLAKS builds on a “game theatre” which Expology has developed for shorter learning games. Here, participants are challenged in groups, where together they take a position on, and solving tasks of varying complexity. Roles and contexts are fictional, but relevant for the thematics. The purpose of Flaks is, to a large degree, focussed on the group’s own discussion, decision-making and experience of the consequences. The process is enhanced by lectures and teaching resources to ensure a solid grounding in the subject. FLAKS - the game is available in four different scenarios; - Enginex is an engineering company with its own assembly and a small foundry, in addition the Enginex game has been translated into English, for use in the oil industry. - Fiksstillas is a supplier to the building industry and specialises in scaffolding. - Knowpower is a company which supplies IT training to the public sector. - Rollout is a supplier of content to the media business and to large customers’ external and internal websites.
The “general manager” of the group is responsible for the group’s progress. Each group also has a PC which offers support and records the choices made by the group. There are 4 information posts which some of the members of the group can visit during the game. This is how the progress of the game is directed and how the pressure of the decision-making process is created. Evaluation of the game shows that it creates positive discussion and focuses on the importance of systematic HMS- work. |
